課程概述 |
本課程希望藉由精讀美國歷史學會(AHA)會長的年度演講講辭，管窺英文史學界晚近發展的潮流趨勢，訓練同學進入學術英文多種文類修辭的論述世界，並且反思史學發展之於學術專業社群以及社會閱聽大眾可能存在的倫理與認知關係。1884年以來的歷年講辭皆已公布於AHA網站，晚近亦有錄影錄音，所以取材比較容易，亦不花費，是難得訓練大學部高年級與研究生學術英文聽說讀寫並進的憑藉。 |

課程要求 |
每周精讀並且註釋英文文本，參與集體討論。
每周一篇。一位同學負責對演講者生平學思作口頭簡要介紹，一位同學負責對講詞做註釋，標明解釋所有生詞、人名、書名、事件等等，一位同學負責對前兩者與講辭本身提問，以便全班討論。每周這三位同學必須事先以小組方式合作，共同完成三件事。每週三上課前一天介紹兼組長將文件彙整寄給全班。並且主持該周上課討論。 |
